Event Details

Medscape Education (part of the WebMD Professional Network), presents a panel of industry experts who will share real world evidence in demonstrating the power of education to advance new science.

The practice of medicine is becoming increasingly complex, as the acceleration of therapeutic innovation has dramatically intensified the process of knowledge uptake and clinical decision-making for physicians and other healthcare professionals.  It’s estimated that medical knowledge now doubles every 3.5 years—and by 2020, will double every 73 days.

Unsurprisingly, physicians are fervently committed to continuous, lifelong learning in order to stay current in practice.  Such learning is especially vital in relation to emerging biotech/biopharma therapeutics and technologies, with which many physicians may be unfamiliar.  With over 3,000 commercial messages delivered each year to the 30,000 physicians considered “most valuable” by industry, these physicians are demanding independent, high-value education, rooted in science.

Accredited continuing medical education (CME) has emerged as a leading communications channel that supports knowledge uptake and behavioral change in clinical settings.  CME blends proven adult learning methodologies with scientifically rigorous educational content, tailored to the identifiable educational needs of targeted healthcare professionals.

The value of CME to physicians lies in its commitment to working with established thought leaders who are known by their peers as sources of trustworthy expertise, and who are able to translate emerging clinical data into actionable, evidence-based strategies in the clinic.

The value of CME to biotech/biopharma organizations—regardless of size or life-cycle stage—lies in its capacity to deliver valuable clinically-relevant information via influential medical experts to millions of healthcare professionals worldwide.  Online CME platforms, in particular, afford opportunities for robust, real-world data collection and analysis via tools that objectively measure knowledge uptake and clinical practice change, as well as opportunities to identify further education and informational needs.

By participating in this discussion, attendees will learn from relevant thought leaders how they can reach thousands of healthcare providers and advance clinicians’ knowledge, while differentiating themselves through the power of education.

This series is open to any Biocom members, as well as any industry company that is not yet a member of Biocom. These events are only closed to non-member service provider companies.
