Program description:

Over the last decade cardiac and stroke care in the United States has seen dramatic improvement as speedier emergency room treatment has helped reduce the number of patient’s deaths. The National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute says this decline has been spurred by better control of cholesterol and blood pressure, reduced smoking rates, and improved medical treatments and faster care of individuals during a clinical event. The reinvention of protocols (door-to-balloon & door-to-needle times) to hasten treatment is part of a broad rethinking of how to better manage these patients.

Even with these improvements heart disease remains the biggest killer of Americans despite significant treatment advances and stroke is the fifth. Our panel includes clinical experts and a venture investor investing in cutting-edge vascular technology. Let’s hear what they have to say about major trends expected to shape the industry going forward.
