The honorable Richard H. Carmona, MD, MPH, FACS, 17th Surgeon General of the United States and Distinguished Professor, University of Arizona will be the opening keynote. Entitled “Prevention, Preparedness, Plagues and Politics: The Life of the Surgeon” this compelling session will discuss the role that the political environment plays in the development of healthcare policies, and explore the impact that political alliances have on the Affordable Care Act (ACA) implementation across the state.

Please join nearly 200 healthcare, technology, academic, and business leaders for a lively day of thought-provoking presentations and conversations.

In addition to Dr. Carmona, we are extremely pleased to welcome San Diego County Supervisor Dave Roberts as this year\’s lunch keynote! His lively presentation will explore the role that politics plays in and the impact it has on the hospitals, our region’s disparities, population health, and access to health care.
