Unexpected adverse drug effects (ADE) are responsible to many incidents of clinical trial failure of new drug entities as well as black box warning and withdrawal of marketed drugs. In this lecture, Dr. Albert P. Li of In Vitro ADMET Laboratories will review current and novel approaches to reduce ADE liability using in vitro human-based experimental systems, with emphasis on drug-drug interactions and drug toxicity.
