We are ecstatic to announce that Stephane Bancel, President and CEO of Moderna Therapeutics, will join us as our next speaker in the Other Side series. Under Bancel’s leadership, Moderna has become one of the fastest-growing companies in the biotech industry, raising more than $1.2 billion since 2011 to develop messenger RNA therapeutics. Much of Moderna’s unprecedented rate of growth while Bancel has been at the helm can be attributed to how the company has leveraged its novel platform technology, as well as its spinout ventures and partnerships with AstraZeneca, Merck and Alexion. Prior to Moderna, Bancel was the CEO of bioMérieux, a world leader in the diagnostics industry, where he was named CEO in the Biotechnology sector according to the 2011 Thomson Reuters Pan European EXTEL Study.
